The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have deepened their humanitarian collaboration.
In the latest development, ADRA has recently distributed 5,400 food vouchers to evacuees in the Kharkiv region in Ukraine with support from the LDS Church.
The joint move is part of a continued effort to serve communities in need by providing essential support to families affected by the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine.
The partnership exemplifies a shared commitment to humanitarian service, transcending denominational lines to uplift communities worldwide.
The Adventist Development and Relief Agency of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, ADRA, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have worked together for nearly 30 years, beginning with a project to feed the hungry in Ecuador in 1995.
Since then, their combined efforts have blessed those in need through 335 projects in 85 countries focusing on areas such as clean water access, food security, education, and disaster relief.
A notable example of their collaboration occurred in January 2025, when ADRA leaders visited Salt Lake City to meet with senior leaders of the LDS Church.

During this visit, they toured Welfare Square and the Bishops’ Central Storehouse, and discussed shared humanitarian values.
ADRA President Michael Kruger expressed admiration for the LDS Church's welfare programs, emphasizing the importance of partnering with like-minded organizations to serve communities in need.
Additionally, in 2020, ADRA secured over $1.7 million in funding to support communities devastated by Tropical Cyclone Harold in the South Pacific.
This relief effort was supported by multiple partners, including ADRA International, Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the LDS Church, New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the United Nations Development Programme.
These examples underscore the genuine and ongoing collaboration between ADRA and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in providing humanitarian aid worldwide.
