China and Kiribati deepened cultural ties on July 9 as Ambassador Zhou Limin and his spouse led young diplomats in a visit to the National Library and Archives of Kiribati.
The visit included a book donation ceremony featuring titles such as Xi Jinping: The Governance of China.
Ambassador Zhou highlighted the progress in cultural exchanges between the two nations since resuming diplomatic relations.
He said the donated Chinese-themed books, including the featured title, would strengthen mutual understanding and foster civilizational dialogue.
Acting Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Smith, welcomed the gesture, emphasizing China’s respect for Kiribati’s heritage. She affirmed the country’s commitment to continued cooperation and to enriching the “Chinese Corner” in the library—a dedicated space for learning about China.
The event marks another step in promoting cross-cultural engagement between the Pacific Island nation and its Asian partner.
