Collaboration for Quality Education for Kiribati students

ree

A national consultation meeting is underway this week between Kiribati’s Ministry of Education and CEDAK—the Church Education Directors Association of Kiribati—with support from the EduKAit program.

The meeting highlights the critical role of church-run schools, which currently educate around 80% of all secondary students in the country.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education says Roreti Eritai says the Ministry acknowledges the good work that CEDAK is doing and remain committed to strengthening its partnership with CEDAK to improve access and quality in education.

CEDAK representatives Ms Teima Onorio acknowledged the continued collaboration and expressed gratitude to the Australian Government for supporting improvements in school curriculum, teaching materials, and coordination with the Ministry.

The EduKAit-supported consultation is expected to set a stronger foundation for long-term cooperation in delivering quality education for all students in Kiribati.
