Japan Contributes $2.36 Million to Support Kiribati's Development Vision, March 12/2025, Korobu, Tarawa.

The Government of Japan has given a significant grant of 2.36 million dollars to the Kiribati Line and Phoenix Islands Development, reinforcing the country’s commitment to advancing the Kiribati Vision 20 (KV20).
This long-term initiative aims to establish Kiribati Kiritimati Island as another commercial hub for development in the Pacific Islands region.
Honorable Miika Temari, Minister for the Line and Phoenix Islands, highlighted that this grant is part of Japan's ongoing support. It builds upon a previous contribution made in 2018, which included machinery for road work, transportation, and other resources.
These efforts continue to support the development and progress of the Line and Phoenix Islands, a key component of Kiribati's broader development goals.
Minister Temari expressed gratitude for Japan’s continued assistance, emphasizing that the funding will play a crucial role in meeting the government's ambitious objectives under the KV20 framework.
