The five major Seventh-day Adventist Churches in Tarawa united this past week in a revival program to prepare for a major community outreach initiative organised by the Kiribati SDA Mission, set to take place later this month.
Among them, the Korobu SDA Church concluded its spirit-filled revival this evening at sunset, marking the end of a powerful week of spiritual renewal.
The revival was filled with emphasis on the Gospel commission of Jesus Christ, heartfelt prayer, uplifting singing, testimonies of faith, and moments of fasting — all aimed at strengthening members for the mission ahead.
The outreach program will focus on reaching homes and communities that have not been engaged before, in line with the revival theme: “I Will Go to the End of the World.”
As part of the mission, church members will offer free health screenings to help address two of Kiribati’s biggest health concerns — diabetes and hypertension.
Korobu Church Lay Minister, Kauaba Nabura, expressed the church’s commitment to meeting both the physical and spiritual needs of the community. “Our goal is to bring healing and hope as we reach out,” he said. “We are following the example of Jesus in His earthly ministry — caring for the health and well-being of the people. Through health screenings, we aim to identify the most pressing needs and respond with compassion and practical support.”
