The Kiribati Police Service (KPS) extends its sincere gratitude to the Australian Federal Police (AFP) for their vital support in delivering a comprehensive Operational Safety Training Program, which focused on Defensive Tactics, Batons, and Handcuffs Instructor certification.

This intensive training, held from March 31 to April 11, 2025, equipped KPS officers with essential skills to enhance public safety and improve operational effectiveness in the field. The program marks a significant step forward in the professional development of our officers and our broader commitment to excellence in law enforcement.

The training concluded with a formal certificate presentation ceremony, recognizing each officer’s successful completion of the program. These certificates symbolized not only individual achievement but also a collective dedication to maintaining high standards in policing across Kiribati.

A special highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of operational safety tools, including a range of batons and handcuffs, generously donated by the AFP. This equipment will significantly enhance the ability of KPS officers to carry out their duties safely and effectively, reflecting our shared commitment to community protection.

To celebrate this milestone and honour the partnership between KPS and the AFP, a celebratory feast was held. The gathering fostered camaraderie among participants and reaffirmed our shared mission of building safer, more resilient communities.

The Kiribati Police Service looks forward to continuing this valuable collaboration with the AFP in future initiatives, as we work together to strengthen law enforcement capacity across the region.
